Why Use UniversalLanguage Service?

UniversalLanguage Service is a third-party language testing provider. Testing is offered to interpreters seeking credentialing in the profession, bilingual individuals wanting to validate their dual language skills, and for the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS LTC) for their recognized medical interpreter program. The examination is designed to evaluate the language proficiency of interpreters in both English and a second language, as well as their interpreting and translation skills, and bilingual skills of the candidate’s language pair. The evaluation process is based on minimum competency standards established by experienced practicing interpreters, bilingual professionals, and language specialists in their respective fields of practice.
